Charlie is friends with Jason Segel, who actually wrote a part for him in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Unfortunately, Charlie wasn't able to take the role, so it went to Russell Brand.

Charlie says, 'I couldn't see that movie for a while because I was a bit tortured by it. Russell Brand did a better job than I would have done in the movie.'
