The plot: A Harvard University anthropologist travels to Haiti and receives a mysterious powder that suppresses the human psyche and motor functionality of the body.
The real story: The film is based on David Wade's book, The Serpent and the Rainbow. Davis himself personally faced the horrifying science that underpins the film. He writes about his unbelievable experience becoming an actual human zombie.
