With the film Fifty Shades Darker just freshly released into cinemas, we took a step back to evaluate the leading man, Christian Grey. In the films, the role is played by actor Jamie Dornan. But what many don't know is that Jamie was never meant to fill the shoes of Christian Grey.
Oh, no.
That role had first been offered exclusively to someone else. Someone tall, blonde, British, and do we really need to say it? Gorgeous. Mr. Charlie Hunnam.

Charlie said the decision to turn down the offer to play the leading man in Fifty Shades of Grey wasn't an easy one. In fact, he says that it was one of the toughest decisions he's ever made in his entire career. And we can see why. With the success of the books and films, it can't be easy to watch another man take on a role that had first been offered to you.
Unfortunately, Charlie's filming schedule with another project conflicted with the Fifty Shades of Grey offer. He was already committed to another project, and simply couldn't accept the offer to play Christian Grey.
