Fly Geyser, Nevada
What is fascinating about this beautiful geyser hill is that it sprang to life through the activities of man and is not a natural occurrence. It came about in 1964 as a consequence of well drilling. The colors are from thermophilic algae and the mound continues to grow as minerals are deposited atop it.
Located in Gerlach, Nevada, it can be seen through arranged tours (as it's on private property) and can be seen from the road, State Route 34.
