Coming out to your parents is not an easy feat. It requires a lot of courage, a lot of strength, and it also requires a moment of vulnerability in which you really can’t be sure what kind of a reaction you’ll be met with.
This young man came out to his father over the phone. The response he eventually got in reply? It was horrible.

He was disowned by his father, not in person, not even over the phone, but by letter.
At first, when this young man revealed to his father over the phone that he was gay, his father just managed a few, “Okays.” And he thought that was the end of it.
But a week later, and not long before his birthday, he received a letter in the mail from his father.
