22. Did you know that if you look at someone’s tears under a microscope, you can tell why they were crying? Photographer Rose-Lynn Fisher started looking at tears under the microscope, and found that there were three distinct types of tears: psychic tears (tears from emotion), basal tears (tears we cry continuously to keep our eyes moist) and reflex tears (tears from an irritant, like dust). And there are different substances in each of these
kinds of tears.

23. Speaking of pregnancy, here’s another horrible little tidbit: if a fetus dies outside of the womb, the mother’s body calcifies the outside of the baby to protect her from the necrotic tissue of the fetus. These “rock babies” often go undiagnosed for years.
