The Trobriand Islanders of Papua, New Guinea, don’t subscribe to many of the constraints on sexuality that we do in the developed west. First of all, they encourage children as young as seven years of age to engage in sexual play. When the children reach adolescence, they begin seriously pursuing sexual partners; which they are encouraged to change often. Women are as free in this process as men. Marriage is solidified by having a couple eat together; and instead of doing the ol’ walk of shame, you wait at your boo’s house for your Mama to show up with some breakfast.
